Hook, the first digital captain - Port de Cannes

Hook, the first digital captain

15 July 2021

The Old Port of Cannes is joining forces with Hook, a new service platform dedicated to pleasure boaters to simplify the annual management of their boats.

For Tanguy Delehonte and Julien Peres, co-founders of Hook, the starting idea was simple: pleasure boaters have to call on around 15 different providers to manage all of the services required for their boat (maintenance, boat surveillance, repairs, cleaning, laundry, packed lunch deliveries, etc.), which is time-consuming and a real headache.

HOOK, an all-in-one solution service

Hook is a platform that brings together all the necessary services and becomes the only contact point for all your needs. Another advantage is its very strict selection process for service providers, which is based on the fundamental values of transparency, trust, punctuality and friendliness. For the provider recommended on the platform as a white-label service, it is a proof of popularity and trust.

A new service dedicated to pleasure boaters launched exclusively in Cannes

The platform was launched at the beginning of summer 2021 exclusively in partnership with the Old Port of Cannes. There are currently around thirty recommended providers. Bernard Deluchat, a pleasure boater at the port, tells us about his experience: “I found out about this service through their presence at the port, when they set up their counter. I went to talk to them to find out what they were offering.” Convinced by this new idea and the enthusiasm of the young team, he decided to place his first order for a picnic to be delivered on board his boat. “I’m very satisfied with the high-quality service and the extremely fair and competitive price.” He adds: “Then I needed some work done on my boat, so I asked them about it. Their quote was in line with the market price, so I went with them. If I have another problem, I’ll go back to them!” After Cannes, which is a great place to showcase the service, the founders hope to implement Hook in other ports in France and abroad.

The website, developed with responsive web design, is available on computers, tablets or smartphones. Users can track their orders using their online account. Hook also offers users a digital safe for storing useful boating documents, and also the option to report any unusual activity spotted at the port. Another (paid) option: a subscription to a surveillance service for your boat when docked.
